Addison's First Birthday!

Here is Addison with her cousin Brynlee, Steve, Uncle Tommy, and Brenda's dad. We were very happy to have many of our friends and family come to celebrate with us!
Addison's birthday party theme was Princess and the Frog. I came over early with Melissa, Tom, and Nate to my parent's house to set up! It turned out as cute as I had hoped!

On Friday, I baked all the cupcakes and her cake. Melissa decorated them right before the party- Thanks Melissa!
1 giant cupcake to celebrate 1 big birthday!
Addison's royal throne!
Us with the birthday girl!
For a princess, she sure doesn't like wearing her crown. . .

Poppa and the birthday girl!

Addison loves giving hugs!
All my presents! I must be pretty loved!
We brought over Addison's little walker, so she could show her walking skills!
Addison loves to put everything she finds into her stroller.
Addison got some pretty outfits.
The best part of getting presents. . .the wrapping paper!
A microphone!
Look at Addison next to me- I guess she didn't need my help after all.
Steve and I picked out a rolling horsey for her. Is it bad that she was there when we picked it out? :)

Her giant candle that said, "Fun to be One!"

Singing Happy Birthday
We let Makenna do the honors. Maybe next year Addison.
Addison first played with the frosting
Trying the frosting
Oh no, a mess on my hands!
Crumbling up the cake in my fingers!
This was one great birthday!

I can't believe how quickly this year has passed! Addison has grown so much, and I was such a wonderful day for us- celebrating the life Addison has ahead of her and looking back at everything she has already experienced! It was extra special because we were actually able to celebrate her birthday on her real birthday- April 24th! I started the day by looking at all the pictures of her birth, we had a special family hug at 1:52p.m., and then spent the evening celebrating her birthday at my mom's house.
Joined by family and friends, we celebrated Addison's 1st birthday in a very classic Princess and the Frog theme party. I stayed home on Friday and baked her birthday cake and cupcakes and whipped up the frosting. Melissa, Steve's sister, came over before the party to decorate the cupcakes/cake. We ate hamburgers and hotdogs, opened presents, and sang Happy Birthday to Addison. We love you Addison!

A Princess Tea Party

Here are Addison's 1 year pictures! We had a wonderful time meeting with Kristen Christensen at Fink Park and taking really pretty pics of our Addison! I accidentally put all these pics in backward order, so giving Addison the strawberry cupcake was the last part of her 1 yr. photo shoot. After eating some of her cupcake and smearing it everywhere, Addison was like, "now what?"

I wasn't sure how Addison was going to react to her cupcake. At first, she was very hesitant and just barely touched the frosting and rubbed it in her fingers. After trying the sugery frosting; however, she picked it up and started having at it!

She was feeling very playful. Steve did an excellent job of getting her to smile and play!

Laughing at her silly daddy!

I love her in this yellow tutu. I bought it months ago for her 5 month pictures- the tutu is actually for a size 0-6 months, but Addison is so small it didn't fit her till now!

Yellow is one of our favorite colors on Addison.
I love these pictures of her with all the greenery. I told Kristen I wanted her pictures to be very whimsical and fairy tale. I think she did a fantastic job capturing that!

Here is Addison with her frog. I wanted our photo shoot to be about princesses, tea parties, and the whole princess and the frog idea. These came out beautifully! This little frog is one of her stuffed animals from her room.

This picture is one of my favorites.

This is my favorite picture! I really think it looks like it's from a magazine; Kristen did an amazing job! I just wish her mommy was better at doing hair! Poor Addison!

Some of these pictures have a blanket underneath her. Addison does not like the feel of grass, so we started with the blanket under her and then decided to try and take the blanket away. She did just great without the blanket; I wish we had tried it earlier. These pictures are great, but I think the blanket takes away some of the whimsy.

I love this picture! She looks so sweet!
Addison was a little scared here. This was the first group of shots we took and the grass would every once in a while touch her when she moved, which kind of scared her. It was cute watching her trying very carefully to balance on her blanket, so she wouldn't touch any grass! She did get comfortable soon, so we were able to get some even better shots.

Addison has four teeth. Two on bottom and the two front ones are starting to come through.

This really captures my Addison. She is very sweet and always has at least a hint of a smile.

I even love her pouty face!

Holding her foot. Addison, even at 1 year, still does not fit her size 1 shoes! She just has tiny feet!
