Labor Class

On Saturday, Steve and I attended labor class. We had a good time attending the class together. We really weren't that excited about attending the class; I've heard lots of people say that they didn't learn anything. We didn't learn tons of new information, but we definitely heard some good information and saw some helpful videos that make me feel a little more prepared.
I think Steve, for sure, has a better idea now of what to expect. It was interesting watching the birthing video with him. I didn't know he had never seen a birthing video before! I've seen a couple of birthing videos before, so most of it was pretty much the same for me (except this time they showed her pushing out the placenta too!).
I can't believe that we are due in 7 weeks. There is SOOOOO much to do! Next week is Spring Break, and I am hoping to finish putting together the nursery during that week. I also am hoping to finish the bookcase that dad, Steve, and I have been working on. It still needs facing put on the front, the legs attached, painting, and then for us to latch it all together so it will stay together! WHEW! I think we will have a pretty busy Spring Break. I feel really lucky to have a dad and a husband that are willing to help me with these crazy projects that I come up with. I can't wait to get it all in the nursery and to start using her bookcase. It will definitely be a piece of furniture that she can always use, and she can always remember how it was built for her with lots of love!

Here's Gigi!

This is our first born baby Gigi. Steve and I admit that we have too strong of an attachment to our puppy. We've had her for three years now, and she is the love of our life! Everyone says that everything will change once we have our daughter in April, but I think she will always be a member of the family to us.
Gigi's personality is so funny. She cracks me up! She always tilts her head when we do the dishes; I think it's because she doesn't get why we are doing it. She sleeps in our bed, between Steve and I. If Steve or I try to put her on the side, she just keeps digging till she finds her way back into the middle. It's so funny to watch her do it. We have often woken up in the morning and find her with half of her body under the sheets, her head on our pillow, and her front legs on top of the covers (just like her mommy and daddy)!
One of the funniest things that Gigi does is when she wants to get some energy out she runs around the living room as fast as possible for a few minutes. Then, she will suddenly stop running and just flop onto the floor and will start napping! It's so funny to watch her get all that energy out, so that she is ready for her nap.
I'm sure that once Addison is born she will get us onto her routine, well, right now we are on Gigi's routine. She wakes me up at 6:30 (which is when my alarm usually goes off, but she wakes me up at 6:30 even on days when I can sleep in). She goes out potty and then expects her breakfast. Then, even if I have to get up and keep getting ready, Gigi goes back to our bed and sleeps for another hour. She usually gets up just in time to "help" me make the bed (usually she's trying to get back under the covers while I'm trying to get her out of the covers) and she says goodbye to Steve and I. She always greets us when we get home and she's not relaxed until we are both home. If Steve is out, she keeps looking out the window and makes whining noises until he shows up. It's frustrating sometimes, but it's really cute that she cares!

Why blog?

We are now expecting our first child and it seems like it is a good idea to begin organizing and displaying the events that are going on in our life. I have loved being able to look at Ty and Jen's blog to be able to see any events and pictures that I don't get to see otherwise. I think with us having our baby, it will be a great way for us to share our lives with those we love and to keep record of everything that is happening. Here's hoping you enjoy and here's hoping that I update this often!
