Addison's Safari

We went to the zoo last week with Aunt Melissa and cousin Nate. Addison was very excited to go to the zoo. They immediately gave her a card and a crown to wear. The crown was off in seconds, but the card was a different story. . .
We first stopped to see the rhino. Every animal we stopped at, Addison wanted to get out of her stroller and be held up so she could see better. (notice the card is still in her hand)

The elephants were in Tulsa this time, but that didn't stop us from taking a ride on the elephant statue!

Still holding the card. . . .
What a beautiful zebra! I love that the zebras, giraffes, ostriches, and some different types of birds were all in a section together. It was like an African safari!

Baby giraffe and her momma.

Daddy giraffe was BIG!
The baby giraffe was less than a year old (sorry for all the giraffes, but I just love giraffes!)
One cute family!

Here is Nate's favorite animal. . the opaki. It is related to the giraffe. Looks an aweful lot like a zebra to me though!

Addison voluntarily jumped over to her Aunt Melissa for part of the visit. . . .with her card in her hand of course.
We went to story time. Addison got to eat Animal Crackers and she tried to drink from a juice box. Still got the card. . .

I didn't even realize he was on my back until Melissa said something! I don't exactly look relaxed about it do I?

You got any food in there?

Addison loved seeing all the pretty birds. We got nectar to feed the birds, but we let Nate do most of the feeding for us. I'm just glad we didn't get pooped on!
Can you guess who was the birds' favorite?
Our last stop was the petting zoo. Addison saw the goats, which she called dogs. She actually called several of the animals dogs. We might need to work on that some more. . . She loved looking at the animals, but she didn't want to pet these goats.
This was the smallest goat. So cute!
p.s. Addison still has her card. . .

And what was Addison's favorite animal? The chickens! This one really big chicken kept running around and ruffling his feathers and bawking like crazy. . . Addison loved it!
This is Addison when we got home. She loved the zoo, but she was pretty tired. She still has her card though. . . .

"Good night Longhorn!"

We have a silly tradition in our house. Whenever we drive to and from my parent's house, we look in this pasture for the longhorn cow. We wave to him, and on the way home we say, "good night Longhorn!"
This time he was really close to the fence. We ran home to get our camera, but he had already moved by the time we got back, so this is the best picture I could get of our Longhorn friend. "Good night Longhorn!"

Bath Time Fun!

How do I get out of this thing?
Oh hello dad!
Can I get in the bathtub yet? I love bath time!
Scrub a dub dub!

Splashing around!

What does this do?

Baby mohawk!

MAJOR mohawk!

Swimming!

Addison loves going to the pool! Summer has barely started and we've already gone 4 times! She loves splashing and spinning around. She even tried to eat the bubbles in the jacuzzi! :)
She loves being in her starfish floaty!

Her cousin Nate went swimming with us on one trip!

Okay, I want mommy now!

Walking Girl!

Here is our walking girl! She is walking more and more each day. She usually falls after about 4 steps, but she is getting much better. Here is Steve practicing walking with Addison.

Addison's First Steps!

Walking has been a stubborn battle for us! Addison will walk all around the house with her hand barely wrapped around your finger, but the minute you try and take away your finger BAM! She sits down! Finally, on Wednesday, we were trying to show Aunt Kimber how close Addison is to walking on her own and she did it! Addison took 2 steps by herself! One small step for man, one giant leap for Addison! Way to go!

XOXO

Addison is now giving kisses! It first started with Steve wearing baseball caps and Addison grabbing the hat and giving her daddy a kiss, but now mommy gets kisses too! I gave Addison a kiss and then asked her to give me a kiss. . .she leaned over with her mouth in a big O and gave me a "kiss." Addison has been the best hugger I've ever seen, and now I get to have lots of wet, sloppy kisses!
